Transparent & Secure Browsing

This Cookie Policy explains how CloseBuy Nigeria Limited ("CloseBuy", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies when you visit or interact with our website (closebuyng.com) and digital services.

You can review or adjust your preferences at any time using our on-page cookie manager below or through your browser settings.

1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone by websites that you visit. They are widely used across the internet to make websites function efficiently, retain login sessions, remember user preferences, and provide analytical data to website owners.

Cookies do not give us access to your computer, and they cannot execute harmful programs or deliver viruses. You remain in complete control of how cookies are stored on your device.

2. How We Use Cookies

CloseBuy utilizes cookies to provide you with a frictionless hyperlocal marketplace experience. Specifically, cookies allow us to:

  • Authenticate your identity and keep you signed in securely to your resident or merchant profile.
  • Maintain the contents of your active shopping cart while you navigate between local stores and product categories.
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent activities or unauthorized checkout attempts.
  • Measure website performance, monitor server response times, and resolve technical glitches promptly.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Strictly Required

These cookies are necessary for the basic technical operation of the CloseBuy platform. They maintain your secure authentication, keep items stored in your shopping cart, and ensure payment security tokens function properly.

Examples: Session tokens, CSRF protection, cart state.

Preference Cookies

Functional

Preference cookies allow CloseBuy to remember choices you make, such as your residential estate selection, language preference, and delivery address presets, providing a more personalized experience.

Examples: Selected estate, delivery address memory, UI settings.

Analytics Cookies

Performance

These cookies collect aggregated, anonymized information about how visitors navigate our web pages. They help us identify slow-loading pages, detect broken links, and optimize overall site responsiveness.

Examples: Page load metrics, aggregated traffic statistics, error logs.

AI Session Cookies

AI Features

Specialized contextual cookies that retain conversational continuity when you interact with our CloseBuy AI assistant and customer support chat window across different tabs or visits.

Examples: Chat prompt history, conversation state identifiers.

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have full autonomy over your cookies. Most popular web browsers (including Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge) allow you to view, delete, or block cookies via browser settings.

Please note that if you choose to reject or disable essential cookies, certain interactive areas of CloseBuy (such as persisting items in your cart, automatic address lookup, or completing checkout) may not function as intended.
